How to Layer Fragrance

Layering isn't about mixing everything you own — it's about pairing one fragrance that leads with another that supports it.

Start with a base-heavy scent (amber, oud, musk) as your foundation, then add a lighter top-note-forward scent (citrus, fresh) on top. The base carries through the day while the top gives an initial lift.

Apply the heavier scent first, let it settle for a minute, then add the lighter one. Fewer sprays than usual of each — layering compounds intensity fast.

A body mist or oil in a complementary family is often the easiest entry point into layering, since it's lighter by design and forgiving if the pairing isn't perfect.
